Billie Shepherd reveals husband Greg 'insists he can't change nappies' for unfortunate reason
As Billie Shepherd and husband Greg returned to our screens in another exciting series of Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries, fans were offered a surprising insight into the couple’s relationship as Billie revealed the one parenting chore that Greg was currently skipping. In a candid confessional, Billie revealed that Greg was currently avoiding nappy changing duties for their adorable daughter Margot, as his recent thumb injury meant he couldn’t complete the task effectively.
During a light-hearted exchange, Billie told the cameras: “Since Greg’s cut his thumb, he is insisting that he can’t change Margot’s nappies at the minute so that’s one thing you’ve got out of.”
Greg however, who was adamant he couldn't complete the task countered by telling his wife: “You’d be shocked by how much you use your thumbs to do everything. Even doing up shirt buttons.”
This prompted Billie to quickly point out the one item he did continue to be able to use, as she argued: “You can’t change a nappy but you still manage to use your phone.” Leaving a disgruntled Greg to comment: “I can’t change a nappy with one hand can I?”
Realising she wasn’t about to get any help, Billie then proceeded to change Margot’s nappy, before coolly telling him: “You might not be able to change her nappy but can you put that in the bin please?” The star then proceeded to hand him the used nappy to dispose of.
In one cheeky scene, although Greg did complete the task as requested it didn't stop him from wiggling the poo filled nappy near his wife's nose as he headed to the bin to properly dispose of it.
The real life ramifications of his unexpected thumb injury came after the couple had revealed how exactly Greg had managed to injure himself earlier in the episode. In one frank exchange at the dining table, the doting dad and husband admitted he had actually sliced the top of his thumb while taking care of Billie when she was unwell.
According to Greg, he had been slicing some ginger for her to make a drink when the accident happened, and was forced to seek out hospital treatment to fix the unfortunate injury. In his own account of what happened, Greg revealed he had been xrayed at his local A&E department and was lucky not to have cut the top of his thumb clean off.
Showcasing his injury on screen, Greg kept his heavily bandaged thumb elevated with the help of a sling, something wife Billie seemed remarkably unsympathetic about!
“The finger sling, I’ve never seen anything like it,” admitted Billie in a brief comment to the camera.
Before a defensive Greg argued: “What do you think I’m doing it for a bit of sympathy?”
“No. I’ve just never heard of it. Someone cuts their finger and has to wear a full blown sling,” replied the reality star.
