Billie Eilish gave full gothic glam in a see-through lingerie dress at the Met Gala
While the first Monday in May is known as fashion's night out, the first Tuesday in May is our chance to see all the best dressed celebrities at the Met Gala. With this year's theme of "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" (an homage to the late fashion designer who most notably helmed Chanel for 36 years until his death in 2019), our fave stars made sure to pull out *all* the stops.
From Kim Kardashian dripping in pearls to Rita Ora's naked dress, there were plenty of references to Karl's design motifs, as well as a select few celebs actually wearing vintage and archived Chanel looks like Dua Lipa's regal AF ball gown. But one of our favourite outfits from the night has to be Billie Eilish.
Wearing a custom Simone Rocha 'fit of black lace dress and matching gloves, Billie was giving major gothic glamour.
It's a lewk, for sure. Her black bustier mini dress had a see-through high neck black lace overlay flowing skirt, decorated all over with embroidered detailing and silver embellishments. She added matching sheer opera gloves, and beneath her gown she was also wearing thigh-high stockings, again in the same matching fabric. Black platform peep-toe stilettos by Piferi and silver Carterier jewellery were the finishing touches. Sequined barrettes and black ribbons were added accessories worn in her hair.
This is the singer's third time attending the Met Gala and we're noticing a theme with her outfits. Who can forget her *stunning* Oscar de la Renta princess dress for her Met debut in 2021, when she was also a co-chair? The corseted bodice and peach tulle train were truly breathtaking.
Billie followed it up with an ornate Gucci gown consisting of blue and gold corset and satin skirt at the 2022 Met Gala, and her look this year again features a corset. Just like how Blake Lively matches her dress to the carpet (the actress is considered Met Gala fashion royalty and was sorely missed 😢 but she wasn't the only celeb missing from this year's event), we think Billie is making lingerie-esque dresses her Met staple.
Hey, if it ain't broke don't fix it right? Here's one more look at her 2023 Met Gala look because we really can't get enough.
