A big name fashion brand will soon shut their Leeds city centre store.

Footasylum, based in Lands Lane, will close soon. This is part of the ongoing work at The Core Shopping Centre.

As many will have seen, scaffolding has been erected at The Core Shopping Centre, on Headrow and Lands Lane to mark demolition work starting. The base is set to be replaced by three flat blocks and a bridge crossing connecting each of the buildings.

These plans also include fitting retail units below the 809 student flats. There's also plans to create new street links in Lands Lane and King Charles Street. This comes after the centre, built in 1987, had struggled for footfall and was seen as 'underused' by planning officers.

The work has seen a number of businesses close in recent weeks and months. The latest to close will be clothing brand Footasylum.

In the window of the shop a message reads ‘closing down soon’. Alongside that, customers are advised of nearby branches at the White Rose Shopping Centre and in Bradford.
