“Beyoncé just texted,” Meghan tells Harry. “Just checking in.”

“Shut up,” he gasps. “Just checking in, just casual.”

“I still can’t believe she knows who I am,” she giggles to her husband.

“She said she wants me to feel safe and protected,” Meghan reads out the text. “She admires my vulnerability and bravery and thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.”

“That's well said,” Harry replies.

The couple sat down with the famed TV star in their Montecito home following their decision to “step back” as senior members of the Royal Family, although they waited a year before they did the tell-all interview with Oprah.

“We were here for a year until we actually did it and sitting down with Oprah was a reaction to what had happened that year,” Harry explains in the documentary.

“It was less about setting the record straight and at least filling in the blanks that people were filling in for us,” added Meghan.

The Oprah interview caused a ripple effect for the couple, who thought that it would mark a new “year of transition”. Instead, it was “anything but a transition,” according to Harry, “it was just a beating.”
