Town & Country honors Justin Trudeau, George H.W. Bush, and other politicians who aren't afraid to be bold with what's on their feet.

Trudeau wore Chewbacca socks for Bloomberg's inaugural Bloomberg Global Business Forum in New York on September 19, and former Star Trek star William Shatner felt betrayed: "@JustinTrudeau I thought we were friends? Chewbacca socks?," Shatner tweeted. (Trudeau revealed his Star Wars allegiance when he wore R2D2 and C3PO socks during an appearance with Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny in May.)

The senator wore a pair of pink-and-blue socks to a September 13 meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office.

A former leader of the anti-EU UK Independence Party (UKIP), Farage was a major proponent of Brexit and is reportedly a friend of President Trump's. The Canadian prime minister has taken up the mantle of sock-loving pol, and thank goodness for it. In July 2016, he wore red maple-leaf socks for Canada Day, Canada's 149th birthday. And in early May, as GQ pointed out, Trudeau rocked a pair of mismatched R2D2 and C3PO Star Wars socks for another event with Varadkar followed by some NATO-branded socks later in the month. The force is strong with this one.
