I realise I'm incredibly late to the world of packing cubes — and, admittedly, I thought they were a bit of a fad at first — but after using them for multiple trips already this year, I can wholeheartedly confirm they're a lifesaver when it comes to organising luggage and making the most out of suitcase space. In fact, I'm such a big fan that I'm planning on buying a bunch more ahead of summer.

Quick overview

The packing cubes I'm using? This super affordable, practical set of organisers from Mountain Warehouse, originally costing £19.99, but now on sale for just £12.99.

And it seems I'm not the only one impressed by their functionality, other shoppers have said the cubes are "better than expected", "great for packing" and "spacious yet compact".

So with various holidays on the horizon and last-minute getaways no-doubt in the works, I figured now's the perfect time to recommend these convenient, perfectly-sized and ultra affordable packing cubes.

These packing cubes from Mountain Warehouse have completely revolutionised the way I organise my luggage, and currently they're on sale.

💸 Reasons to buy

Previously I've been known to stuff as much as physically possible into my case whenever I'm due to travel, often leaving me with creased clothes on the other end, and a very tightly packed suitcase (that would usually require sitting on to close). These packing cubes, however, have changed the way I pack entirely.

First off, my luggage has never been more organised. The three different cubes mean I can pack my belongings in a neat and orderly fashion, purposely loading my evening dresses and skirts in one compartment, tops, shorts and trousers in another, and swimwear in the last. This means that when I unpack, I know exactly where to look.

Then there's the capacity. On a recent trip to Gran Canaria for 10 days, I managed to pack twice as much as I would normally have been able to fit in my case. Now, on first glance, the cubes themselves didn't look like they would fit much, but I was shocked at how much I could get in them, including: 10 dresses, four skirts, 14 tops, two pairs of trousers, three pairs of shorts, three shirts, and five types of swimwear plus two cover-ups. And that was in just three packing cubes!

The organisers are designed with mesh polyester tops that aren't just helpful for ventilation, but also just tracking where you've packed what. They even come with double zippers for easy and quick opening and closing.

Overall these handy cubes made packing not just a lot more organised, but a lot more enjoyable, too (if anyone tells you they like packing, they're lying).

Reasons to avoid

The only possible reason these might not work for some users might be the fact that they're not compression packing cubes. Unlike regular packing cubes, compression packing cubes are designed with a special zipper that removes the air and, in turn, compresses everything, allowing you to fit more into the cubes. Otherwise I think these organisers in particular are great value, good quality and do the job perfectly well.
