Fendi kicks off Milan Fashion Week with a physical show

Fendi kicked off Milan Fashion Week with a physical catwalk show - with a minimal, socially distanced, mask-wearing audience - and enlisted some top tier models to boot: Ashley Graham, Edie Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Yasmin Le Bon - the list kept going. Themed around 'Reflections', the collection was described as a "patchwork of memories" designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, who was heavily influenced by her time spent with family and all the generations reunited at home in Rome during lockdown - and the "quiet introspection" that afforded. This played out through the purity of linen - mixed with the romance of cotton, feathers and quilting; a neutral, flaxen palette peppered with more optimistic, natural shades; an emphasis on transparency and texture; and an overall softening of structure.
