Gala

Back for its third year, Gala kicks off the festival season on the May bank holiday with a South London knees up. House and disco artists rule the line-up, with Midland, Horse Meat Disco and Mr Scruff taking to the decks. There’s a focus on the food and drink side of things, with an eclectic bunch of street food options from BBQ to pizza providing the dancing fuel.
This year it’s moving to a new home in Peckham Rye.
Date: 27 May
Price: from £20

The best London day festivals in summer 2018

The UK festival season is almost here, with options ranging from the tiny and boutique to the huge and sprawling.

And while the idea of live music and dancing in the sunshine is almost universally appealing, not everyone’s willing to out up with the idea of sleeping in an increasingly grubby tent for four nights without the option of a hot bath.

Thankfully for all the camping-phobes, there are plenty of day festivals options in the capital – without a tent peg in sight.

They’ve got the best bands and DJs, all the delicious foodie offerings and quirky experiences, plus you can you home to your own bed.

These are some of our favourite London day festivals.
