We have tried a whole host of products to protect our locks from heat damage, split ends and thinning.

Just like we use moisturisers, serums and SPF on our skin, and prime our face before applying make-up, if we want our locks to look their best then we have to look after them.

Some may be put off of using pre-styling sprays on their hair, because if too much is applied it can leave clean hair looking slightly greasy. Or if you use styling tools to early after applying, your hair will make that sizzling sound when it comes into contact with the heat.

But those issues are easily resolved. Simply be patient, spritz your hair with a light layer of the protective spray from a distance ( around 30cm, or arm’s reach). Then let the product soak into your hair and dry before styling with heated equipment.

Now, on to the products themselves. Big brands including ghd, Olaplex and Kerastase are among some of the most popular brands shoppers turn to to protect their tresses.

Heat protectants to be used on damp or dry hair, with different formulas best suited to different hair types, there is something to suit every shopper’s needs.
