The best BBQ food for summer 2023
With warmer weather finally here (long may it continue!), it’s finally time to dust off the BBQ, wheel out the garden furniture and start compiling your summer shopping list.
Perfect timing, we say, because the results are in for The Good Housekeeping Institute’s big BBQ Taste Test. Our trusted panel tasted a whopping 214 products from supermarkets and online butchers to bring you the tastiest spread for al fresco entertaining.
It was a great year for M&S and budget retailer Aldi, with both brands awarded the coveted top-spot in three categories. Tesco picked up the award for best beef burger, while Iceland reigned supreme in the sausage department.
An impressive year for innovation in the meat-free market ensures veggies and vegans are well catered for too, with a comprehensive line-up of plant-based burgers and sausages to tuck into.
For something a little different, there’s also a selection of meat kebabs, ribs and chicken which will provide a stunning centrepiece when hosting garden guests.
And to wash it all down? Stock your fridge with English sparkling wine, summer-ready cider, aperitifs and canned cocktails, as well as the best non-alcoholic wines, beers and spirits.
