The best après-ski bars and activities in Les Menuires

Les Menuires apres ski activities
Les Menuires may not be the liveliest French ski resort but it still has plenty to offer - Vincent Lottenburg

There has been a growing shift in Les Menuires, and the Trois Vallées in general, for mountain restaurants to start the party earlier in the day, with several of our recommended mountain restaurants putting on DJs from 2:30pm, after the main lunchtime rush. Inspired no doubt by the Folie Douce empire.

While Les Menuires itself is predominantly a family resort, there are still some excellent haunts for both relaxed drinks and late-night disco.

For further Les Menuires inspiration, see our guides to the resort's best accommodation and restaurants.

Bars in Les Menuires

Jack's

Sister bar to the original Jack’s bar from Méribel, since its 2024 debut this bar has injected some extra va va voom to the Croisette snow front. Neatly zoned, there is a relaxed drinking vibe to one side and restaurant-style seating for diners to the left of the bar. Themed menus are on offer on Tuesday evenings, plus all-day snacks to mop up the fulsome craft beers and cheeky cocktails like “50 Shades of Grey” and “How I Met Your Mother”. Sports fans can get their fix of the football and Six Nations without the screens being too overpowering. Cocktail hour 8 to 9pm

Le Challenge

Hidden away downstairs in the Gallerie Adret, the shopping centre of the Croisette, Le Challenge is a challenge to find but worth tracking down. It’s a lively late-night bar which attracts the locals and seasonaire crowd. Themed music nights from techno to dub happen throughout the week, with both resident and touring DJs manning the decks. One for guests looking for late-night dance music, or buck the trend and go early for a game of pool and a tempting selection of happy hour cocktails.

Le Comptoir

In the centre of the La Croisette sector of Les Menuires and facing out to the snow front, Le Comptoir is not only a recommended place to eat but also a top spot for relaxed in-resort afternoon après. Live DJs spin on the snowfront terrace to create a chilled party atmosphere right at the base of the piste. A good selection of cocktails and a glass-fronted wine cellar showcasing some excellent local wines.

L’Entourloop

Another basement bar, L’Entourloop is a proper disco meets cocktail bar, with wall-to-wall backlit bottles of spirits of every hue a dazzling backdrop to the long bar. All framed to look out onto a dancefloor liberally sliced with a laser light show that is guaranteed to get those tired ski legs jumping. Insta-friendly cocktails are served in converted camera lens housings, the Koh Phangan, and flower pots, the Cookie Pot, and the mixologists are as much as part of the show as responsible for delivering the goods. DJs start laying down the fresh tracks from 11pm.

Other activities

Snowmobiling

After a day on the slopes take a dusky 50-minute white knuckle ride up, down and around the slopes of the Croisette sector on your very own snowmobile. The snowmobile route tracks past the base of the La Masse before heading up to the top of one of the valley ridges with views down to Méribel. Then it’s back down to finish on the snow front at La Croisette. Options to ride a deux, under your own steam, or have a guide to drive and sit back and enjoy the ride. Helmets are provided along with a full safety briefing. The minimum age for self-driving is 18 years, seven years as passenger. Driving Licence required.

Price: €65 per person with a guide/€155 euros for the snowmobile for two people

Roc n Bob

Rocking the Roc, this is a great sledging track, not too death-defying but lots of variety. Hire your sledge at the base of the Roc 1 gondola, in the La Croisette sector and ride to the top of the gondola. With great views down to the resort, you hop on your sledge and race down the 4km Roc'n Bob slope, with 22 bends and a 450-metre elevation drop. Night sledging with head torches is also possible, though not for the faint-hearted. And the best bit is it starts close to the Roc 7 restaurant so you can have a drink and a boogie on the terrace for Dutch courage before jumping on the sledges. Minimum age seven years.

Price: Tickets can be purchased from the Roc 1 gondola station; €14 for one descent. Children under 10 years free with an adult on the same sledge. €48 for a family ticket (two adults, two children under 18).
