After making a low-key red carpet debut with Selena Gomez at the Golden Globes, Benny Blanco joined his fiancée once again at the 2025 Oscars. Gomez posed by herself on the red carpet, but Blanco walked with her down it:

Blanco and Gomez stayed together inside the ceremony and kept close during the broadcast.

In the weeks following the Golden Globes, Blanco and Gomez made headlines for volunteering together to support L.A. wildfire relief efforts. The producer also stirred up some excitement among fans after he and Gomez announced their upcoming album, I Said I Love You First. Blanco produced it, while Gomez sang the tracks.

Last week, Blanco told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that recording an album with his partner 'was just an idea that started in our bedroom, and it was like, "Let’s just make something fun." And then it actually was really good, and I was like, holy, we have to do this. And all the friends who made this album with us, it wasn’t like, "Today we’re getting together, and we’re making a hit song." I would be like, "Hey, Julia [Michaels], Justin [Tranter], you want to come over? We’ve written for 15 years and so have you with Selena." Everything felt right, and it almost felt too good.'

In December, Gomez spoke to Saoirse Ronan for Variety’s Actors on Actors series about how she sees herself as an actor versus a singer. She kept tight-lipped on her album news.

'I definitely think my strong suit is probably acting. But one thing I’m proud of in music is being able to tell a story — my favourite songs are mostly ballads, and they’re very transparent and honest,' she told Ronan. 'But I think I might be a little too old for the pop-star life. I’m genuinely so happy to just be in this new era of my life, because in a lot of ways, it’s just the beginning.'

She teased that being with Blanco guaranteed she’d remain connected to the music industry, even if it’s not 'a forever thing' for her own career. She explained that 'I’ll always have music in my life because my partner’s a musician, and I love having moments to do it for fun. It can be a little vulnerable when you’re putting yourself out there versus escaping into a character.'
