With fashion weeks looking starkly different to the seasons of old (and for good reason), our feeds have been lacking that twice yearly injection of fantasy, design and sartorial inspiration. So a small squeal of excitement escaped our lips as we watched (virtually of course) Fendi's new Artistic Director, Kim Jones, send a squad of 'Supers' wafting down a mirrored runway draped in opulent haute couture.

Jones unarguably brought out the big guns for his debut couture collection for the house, recruiting Bella, Cara, Naomi and Christy along with Kate Moss and daughter Lila, Adwoa Aboah and Demi Moore to bring his Venetian mermaid fantasy to life.

Metallic brocade suits, shimmering swathes of silver and regal dresses dripping with embellishment floated their way through the Orlando-inspired maze. The ethereal theme transcended into the show's hair and make-up, with models wet-look lengths quite literally dripping.

‘It's the spirit of Bloomsbury, caught in a thunderstorm in the garden. Rain soaked hair with Venetian glass hair combs by Delfina Delettrez,' explained legendary hairstylist Sam McKnight whose vision was carried out remotely in Paris by fellow stylist and friend, Eamonn Hughes.

Kate and Lila Moss' iconic golden hair received a tangled, shipwrecked transformation, while Cara and others were given a sleeker iteration of the wet look with glossy curves reminiscent of a classic finger wave.

Literary references, swirling glass hair accessories and a couture hairstyle that works in the British weather? This is the couture beauty we've been waiting for.

In true Orlando style, traditional gender roles were blurred, with both male and female models receiving the wet look treatment. Make-up too pushed forwards for fluidity, with make-up artist Peter Philips adorning each model with a timeless glow, regardless of their gender.

'It’s all about luminosity, beautiful glowy skin, soft smoky eyes and a little shine on the lips paired with the beautiful Murano glass jewellery and the wet hair look,' Philips explained.
