Bella Hadid reveals 'people pleasing' caused her to return to those who 'abused' her
Bella Hadid has revealed that her "people pleasing" nature created a cycle where she kept returning to men and women who "abused" her.
The model, 25, opened up about unhealthy past relationships in which she had no boundaries "sexually, physically, emotionally".
She told Victoria's Secret's S Voices podcast: "I constantly went back to men and also women that had abused me and that’s where the people pleasing came in.
"I started not having boundaries – not only sexually, physically, emotionally but then it went into my work space."

Hadid, who dated 31-year-old singer The Weeknd on and off from 2015 to 2019, added: "I grew up around men – whether that was in relationships or family or whatever that was – where I was constantly told that my voice was less important than their voice."
She added: "Then moving into relationships growing up, and not having the boundaries of being able to stick up for myself and have my voice being heard, affected me in my adult relationships very intensely, where my nervous system would crash. It was fight or flight."
The daughter of real estate developer Mohammed Hadid and former model Yolanda Hadid, she grew up in California alongside her older sister Gigi and younger brother Anwar.
Hadid revealed that staying off social media has been a "powerful" way for her to heal, and doing therapy, meditation and exercise has likewise been positive.
Earlier this month, the catwalk star revealed that she used to "cancel" nights out because she feared she would be unable to "control" her drinking.
Speaking to InStyle magazine, the model – who went sober six months ago – said: "I loved alcohol and it got to the point where even I started to, you know, cancel nights out that I felt like I wouldn't be able to control myself."
Hadid revealed how it affected her mental health, explaining: "I don't feel the need [to drink alcohol] because I know how it will affect me at three in the morning when I wake up with horrible anxiety thinking about that one thing I said five years ago when I graduated high school."
She added that she was glad to give up the "never-ending" cycle of "pain and stress".
