Princess Beatrice's wedding has been 'pencilled in for June'

The Queen is reported to have agreed to let Princess Beatrice announce the date for her wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s eldest daughter, 31, is believed to have settled on early June 2020, according to the Daily Mail.
However, it will be ensured her marriage to the Italian businessman, 34, won’t clash with the monarch’s favourite Royal Ascot.
Her Majesty has given her blessing for her granddaughter and her fiancé to reveal the exact day for their nuptials in the New Year once the opening of Parliament and Christmas are over.

“Bea and Edo will finally announce their wedding date in the second week of January,” a source told the paper.
“The date has been described as ‘early summer’, just before the summer social season kicks off.”
It is thought the wedding will have to take place before the Queen’s favourite racing event begins on June 16th.
However, it is understood that finding a venue has proved another hurdle for the couple.

Last month, Beatrice and Edoardo are believed to have told a few friends that they were close to settling on The Guards’ Chapel in London’s St James’s Park.
Her father Andrew’s position as honorary Colonel of the Grenadier Guards would have meant his daughter jumped to the front of a long wait-list.
However, recent events which have affected the Yorks’ standing in the royal family mean that is likely to now no longer be an option.
The chapel hosted Camilla and Andrew Parker Bowles’ wedding in 1973, and it is not traditionally a royal choice.

In October, it was reported that Beatrice had declined a carriage ride, procession and Windsor castle reception for her wedding.
Before her father’s controversial Newsnight interview, she is said to have told her parents she is in favour of a “low-key” and “casual” reception at a non-royal venue.
According to the Daily Mail, the bride-to-be has refused to have a televised ceremony like her younger sister Princess Eugenie, 29, when she wed now-husband Jack Brooksbank in 2018.
It has been suggested the couple - who announced their engagement on Instagram - could opt for a marquee in the garden of her parent’s Royal Lodge home in Windsor.

A friend of the Queen’s granddaughter told the paper: “Beatrice has said she and Edo are looking at alternative venues because she wants something different.
“The wedding will not be in Italy and from what they are saying it won’t be in St George’s Chapel, Windsor, either.
“There have been three big royal weddings there in the past year or so and I’m not sure that’s what Bea wants.
“Edo has a child, there’s the situation with his ex, and Beatrice might just feel something more low-key might be more fitting.”
