BBC's nostalgic reboot confirms 2025 release with first teaser trailer
BBC series The Famous Five has confirmed a return release window alongside a teaser trailer.
The adaptation of the classic Enid Blyton books debuted last year with three episodes, and it is set to arrive again soon.
It has now been confirmed that the first episode of season 2, Mystery at the Prospect Hotel, will air "soon", with the second to follow in 2025.
In the teaser clip (which you can view here), we get a taste of the action to come – including Ted Lasso star James Lance dancing as Uncle Quentin.
Mystery at the Prospect Hotel is set in the summer of 1940 as the Five are reunited at a grand hotel at Cragstone Ridge.
"An old foe, Thomas Wentworth, awaits them as he needs their help," the synopsis adds.
Game of Thrones star Jack Gleeson will take on the role of Wentworth, who "has seen into the future and foretells the murder of famous jazz singer Cab Vee, who is visiting the hotel".
"With a host of likely suspects, each with their own motive, can the Five figure out who is trying to kill him?"
The Famous Five stars Don't Breathe 2's Diaana Babnicova as George, The Northman's Elliott Rose as Julian, Belfast's Kit Rakusen as Dick and Flora Jacoby Richardson as Anne.
Also appearing are Money Heist's Maria Pedraza as Gabriela and His Dark Materials' Amir Wilson as Cab Vee.
The series follows the five as they "encounter treacherous, action-packed adventures, remarkable mysteries, unparalleled danger and astounding secrets".
The Famous Five season 2 will premiere soon. Season 1 is available on BBC iPlayer.
