BBC's Lauren Laverne issues health update after cancer diagnosis
Lauren Laverne has given an update on her situation following her successful treatment for cancer. The presenter confirmed last month that she was all set to return to work after being given the all-clear.
Laverne, 46, works on both The One Show and also hosts BBC Radio 6 Music's breakfast show Radio 4's Desert Island Discs. She confirmed in August that she was in hospital for cancer treatment.
She said it was 'caught early and unexpectedly during a screening test' and she hoped to make a 'full recovery'. Sure enough, in December she said she was given the 'all clear', and hoped to return to work soon.

Laverne today (December 9) took to Instagram to give an update on her health, while also thanking every for their support during her battle against cancer.
Sharing a picture of various letters and cards on Instagram that she has received, she said: "Held up at the BBC for a while but now with me, yet more get well cards. Thank you so much to everyone who has been in touch - the support I have received has blown me away.
"These contain among other things a blessed medal of Our Lady from Ireland, a pressed flower, Raga tea and queer magic and disco dust from the NYC Downlow crew. I am beyond grateful for all the love I have been shown during my recovery. People have shared so many encouraging stories with me, and it really helped, so I’m putting this up here for anyone going through cancer treatment at the moment to spread the love and good vibes I have been lucky enough to receive around to you.
"It is so tough but hang in there - you are not alone. Four months on I’m happy, feeling good and enjoying life more than ever, and I’m so grateful for all the people who have supported me (in big ways and small) to get me here. Take it one day at a time and with lots of love from me. LL x."
