BBC The Traitors star makes bombshell pregnancy announcement after tense Round Table

A former Traitors star has shared a major life update immediately after being axed from the BBC series.

Wednesday's (January 8) episode saw plenty of dramatic twists and turns as more contestants returned to the show and another Faithful was banished. This all came in the aftermath of the first Traitor being uncovered at the Round Table.

However, not long had Armani been revealed as a Traitor, the rest of the group discovered the next day that her Faithful sister Maia had been murdered. Viewers worked out that this was a ploy by the Traitors to set up Freddie who had been accused previously.

Maia appeared on the reality gameshow's companion visual podcast The Traitors Uncloaked, where some happy news was confirmed. Host and comedian, Ed Gamble confirmed that Maia is having a baby.

Maia appeared to talk about her time on the show alongside her sister and featured alongside banished Faithful Kas. Ed said: "Maia and Kas are here with us now. And Maia, you're having a baby congratulations!"

Fans were quick to react on social media with one posting: "MAIA'S PREGNANT??" followed by party emojis. Maia, 25 from Essex said before she went on the show that if she was to win the cash prize she would use it to put down a deposit for a house. She said: "My plan, just in general with life is that I kind of want to disappear off the face of the earth. I want to live in the countryside, I want to have a very quiet life. And then if I have anything left over, I’ve got a lot of debts to sort out, and then I would go on a nice little holiday. I've always wanted to go to Bali, because of Eat, Pray, Love."

She is already proudly dedicated to being a full-time mum to two-year-old Ava. Before stepping into the Traitors castle, Maia disclosed her motivation for joining the show was apparently the cost of parenthood. She admitted: "My daughter is going to nursery soon and that's expensive. It's like having a mortgage, so that was also a motivator."

Appearing on Uncloaked, Maia also explained why she always suspected Freddie as a Traitor. However, she was stunned to find out that she was wrong about all her suspicions. She said: "I'm sorry Freddie! I really thought it was Freddie. When we got off the raft, I was confused why he got off. I got off because I was rubbish." However, it was pointed out to her by her fellow panellists that Freddie also struggled during the rowing challenge.

The Traitors continues tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer, followed by The Traitors Uncloaked on BBC Two at 10pm.
