Scottish radio DJ and podcast host Arielle Free has surprised her fans by posting photos of her early screen role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The 36-year-old BBC Radio 1 presenter was 17 when she appeared as one of the French Beauxbaton students visiting Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament in the 2005 movie.

Arielle shared photos from the movie, and also included pictures in which she modelled her costume from the movie for Halloween this year, including a video of her in the outfit performing as a DJ in front of an enthusiastic crowd. Alongside the post, she wrote: “There was only one option for Halloween this year…dress up as myself as one of the Beauxbatons from Harry Potter. Yes that’s me in actual Goblet of Fire.”

She added that it was her first ever job when she moved to London. “I crashed the audition (as I was a massive Potter head) got the part, filmed for over a year, got to be on set with the greatest actors in British filming history AND also met my future husband's sister! We wouldn’t know I’d be her future sister in law until over ten years later (and yes we do mention it every family get together),” she explained.

The blue Beauxbatons uniform that Arielle has kept was actually modelled on the French Olympic team’s women’s uniform for the 1976 Olympics. Her fans were thrilled by her revelation, with one commenting: “Obviously going to watch it for the 367th time just so I can spot you,” while a second said: “So iconic.” Another added: “I am obsessed with this story,” while a fourth wrote: “The stuff of legend!”

She had some famous fans comment, too, with Vicky Pattison writing: “I love everything about this as a Potterhead. I’ll be watching this tonight and keeping an eye out for you,” while singer Craig David said: “Absolutely love this.”

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was the fourth movie in the movie series based on JK Rowling’s bestselling books. As well as featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as Harry and his friends Hermione and Ron, this instalment also featured Robert Pattinson in an early role as Hufflepuff student Cedric Diggory, Doctor Who and Broadchurch star David Tennant as Barty Crouch Jr, and French actress Clemence Posey as Beauxbatons head girl Fleur Delacour.

The movie also has some surprise guests - at the Triwizard ball, the band on stage includes Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker alongside Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway, who created music for the movie’s soundtrack.
