BBC Morning Live's Helen Skelton announces break from show
Helen Skelton has announced a break from BBC's Morning Live with an Instagram post paying tribute to her colleagues. Helen is a regular presenter on the popular daytime show alongside Gethin Jones and Michelle Ackerley.
But after the show on Friday, December 20, which will be hosted by Gethin and feature Gavin & Stacey's Joanna Page, Morning Live will be taking a break for Christmas. Helen has already hosted her last programme for the year and took to Instagram to share a message with fans.
Posting a series of images and video clips, Helen said: "Lewks and lols of the last couple of weeks at work. Over and out 2024." she then tagged her colleagues including members of the make-up and fashion team.

She continued: "To work with ladies and gents who want to do a good job and know you need to get out on time for the kids carol concert is the ultimate pay day. Crazy proud of the content my colleagues are making. We hope it helps you in any small way. Taking nothing for granted. Here’s to loading up the cheese board and putting home alone on repeat.
"Looking forward to having you back in 2025 @gethincjones @bbcmorninglive."
Her message comes after guest presenters Kym Marsh and Gordon Smart joined forces on Thursday to host the penultimate show of the year - and Kym made a quip about Gethin as he appeared on screen via video link.
The Welshman has been missing from hosting duties while he appears in panto at Cardiff's New Theatre as Prince Charming. But he appeared in a pre-recorded video clip to take on the expert question-and-answer session.
Replying to a question on Christmas traditions from a viewer named Paul, Gethin introduced himself and said: "Hi Paul, Prince Charming here."
But following Gethin's response, Kym was quick to call out how cringe his introduction was. She gasped: "Wow, did he just actually refer to himself as Prince Charming? Someone pass me a bucket!"
As the other guests in the studio roared with laughter, Kym added: "I tell you what, he's back tomorrow, he's on the sofa tomorrow with Joanna Page. Please, please someone take the mickey out of him for that!"
Morning Live is on BBC One weekdays at 9.30am and on BBC iPlayer
