BBC EastEnders' Sharon Watts 'embroiled in new Mitchell love triangle'

EastEnders' Sharon Watts could be set to find herself in yet another Mitchell brother triangle.

The character (Letitia Dean) has had her fair share of love interests on the soap. Since making her debut in 1985, she has gone on to have a slew of romances with Walford men.

Recently, she was left devastated after the death of fiance Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) - who was stabbed by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) after he attempted to strangle Sharon after learning her son, Albie, wasn't his.

But it was Sharon's saucy affair back in 1994 that had the nation gripped. Nearly 30 million fans watched the Queen Vic moment that saw Sharon Mitchell's affair with her brother-in-law Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) exposed.

At the time, Sharon was married to Grant (Ross Kemp). He managed to get a taped recording of Sharon confessing to sleeping with his brother and ripping off his clothes.

Getting his revenge, Grant showed up at the pub where Sharon was hosting Phil and Kathy's engagement party. But in front of everyone, Grant replaced the music with Sharon's confession - leaving residents in shock.

However, fast forward 30 years and history could be set to repeat itself, as Sharon could be finding herself in another Mitchell brother love triangle.

Last month, Sharon and Phil ended up locking lips after a heart-to-heart. The blonde bombshell has since attempted to brush it off - but it seems someone new is going to catch her eye in the soap.

Over in the soap last week, a brand new Mitchell family arrived: Billy's brother, Teddy, and his two children, Harry and Barney. And this week, Teddy takes a liking to Sharon.

Spoilers reveal that Phil and Teddy get on the wrong side of Sharon by leaving the gym in a state after a Mitchell drinking session. Later on, Teddy tries to win Sharon round by inviting her for a drink and laying on the charm.

Teddy and Sharon have a flirty drink, raising eyebrows from Stevie, who is not too keen about his son messing with Phil's ex. When Teddy tries to convince Sharon to stay for another drink, she playfully rebuts him and heads off.

Now, fans are convinced Sharon will end up in a love triangle with Teddy and Phil. Over on X, friendly known as Twitter, one person wrote: "sharongate part 2 looms."

A second chimed in - but it appears that they are not too keen on the new love triangle, writing: "Abysmal."

While over on a Reddit thread, one person said: "I wonder if we'll have a 30th anniversary of Sharongate (1994) with Sharon, Teddy and Phil." Someone else wrote: "You know, everyone (for months) talking about Sharon and Phil and Alfie and Kat getting back together...and I wasn't feeling it."

"The other week and when it was romantic, not sexual and they were talking about 30 years ago...I started rooting them for them, but now we're getting this? It's missing the mark for me personally and I'd rather they paired the guy with Denise, threw Honey under the bus, or had the triangle be between Harry, Penny and Teddy."
