Countryfile has revealed two new and very young presenters that will be joining the show's team after a nationwide Young Presenter Talent Search draws to a close.

The BBC One programme had been on the lookout for young presenters between the ages of eight and 15, with the search lasting for many weeks.

Countryfile presenter Anita Rani unveiled the two overall winners during last night's episode (July 29), with the help of naturalist and TV presenter Nick Baker and the former member of boy-band JLS and farmer JB Gill, who selected the winners of each age category.

The competition received hundreds of great entries but only four from each age category made it through to the final round, which involved presenting on Adam's Farm.

Anita announced the first winner as Matilda, revealing the news to the young girl in front of her fellow schoolmates, who happily responded, 'Thank you everyone'.

Anita then headed to Wales to tell Archie he had also won, introducing the news with: 'Archie, four is a good number but there is a number better than four isn't there? What number could that be?'

The enthusiastic youngster replied, hopefully: 'One?' After which Anita stopped teasing, revealing he was the winner to exclamations of: 'No way!'

The pair of youthful presenters are now invited to attend BBC Countryfile Live at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire later this week, where they will join the show's presenters and broadcast a short piece to be aired on BBC One.

Many viewers were delighted with the news, sharing their thoughts on Twitter...

Countryfile Live will be taking place at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, from 2nd to 5th August 2018. For more information and to book your tickets, visit here.
