Bargain Hunt star daughter targeted by car thieves in terrifying ordeal
Bargain Hunt's beloved auctioneer, Philip Serrell, recently shared a chilling incident involving his daughter Clementine, who found herself in a harrowing ordeal with car thieves. The Worcestershire-based auctioneer shared details of the incident on social media. According to Philip, Clementine caught two individuals attempting to steal her car after they had stolen her car keys.
Despite the alarming situation, Clementine remained composed, prompting her father to joke about the thieves' reaction to being confronted by his petite daughter. Philip took to Twitter to share the incident, stating, "Last night @clemserrell caught 2 blokes stealing her car after a car key theft. In a way, I hope they don't get caught. Won't do their street cred any good being chased off by a 5'4" blonde."
The post garnered an outpouring of support from fans, who commended Clementine for her bravery and quick thinking. One user wrote "They didn't realise how fit you were, girl power!! Glad you're ok."
A second added: "Clementine Serrell is constantly inspiring and such a hard-working person. Only deserves the best and not these crooks! Hugs to you, Clem." A third penned: "You go, girl!! Good on you for chasing them but just as long as you were safe!! does Clem take after you or your wife Phil??"
Despite the seriousness of the situation, Clementine maintained a lighthearted attitude, humorously referring to herself as a "Liam Neeson/James Bond hybrid" in response to the overwhelming support from well-wishers.
Phillip, who lives in Worcester with his wife, welcomed their only daughter Clementine in 1988. Elsewhere on Bargain Hunt, expert Roo Irvine recently shared the story behind her landing her role on the BBC show.
Discussing her role on the BBC programmes and finding her feet in the world of antiques, Roo explained how she got her big TV break. "I would say it chose me. My husband and I worked in the marketing world and a big, heartbreaking change in family circumstances a few years ago, made us step away from life for a while," she said.
The 42 year old went on: "When we resurfaced, we opened a small antique shop in the village and one day, Antiques Roadtrip came visiting with Paul Laidlaw.
"I was asked to join the team, and the rest is history. I believe life has its own plans for you, whether we know it or not."
The heartbreaking circumstances Roo referred to was the passing of her beloved father. She has been open about losing her dad in the past, explaining how she and her partner both lost their fathers within weeks of each other.
In an interview on the Things I Forgot Were Good For Me podcast, she explained how she and her partner had been living with her mum for six weeks again and needed to "find their feet again". Roo said: "We'd been with my mum for five... six months and we thought, well, we still have to pay the bills, what do we do?"
She continued: "And we recently became addicted to auctions, and we furnished our big Victorian house from them and we had so much surplus stuff.
"I'm just a magpie, my hand is always up in the air at an auction. And my hubby said, 'Well listen, why don't we start selling some of these on eBay online?'"
