Barack Obama is making sure his wife, Michelle, is feeling all the love on her 61st birthday. Ever the doting, charming husband, he took to Instagram to gush over his sweetheart in a swoon-worthy tribute. Let's just say, it has me thinking, I want what they have.

The former president put their adorable marriage on display in a casual photo that sees them holding hands across a beautiful woodgrain dining table, wearing the biggest smiles. Michelle looks effortlessly chic in a black long-sleeve dress with a V-neckline and belted waist. She added a quirky patterned green-and-black bandana to her hair and finished the look off with large silver hoop earrings.

Meanwhile, Barack showed off a more relaxed side of himself, donning a gray button-down shirt with the top button undone and the sleeves rolled up, along with black trousers. The couple appeared to be getting ready for a romantic, candle-lit dinner, as they sat before two place settings and two gorgeous bouquets of flowers. The room included a cool wine fridge along the wall for an added touch of ambiance.

"Happy birthday to the love of my life, @MichelleObama," Barack wrote in his caption. "You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace—and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!"

The Obamas don't post about each other often, however, every time they do, it's always heartwarming—and today was no exception.

Over the years, they have also been quite candid about their relationship. Michelle opened up about the struggles they've experienced over their 32-year-long marriage while appearing on the "On Purpose With Jay Shetty" podcast on January 8, 2024.

She admitted their romance has never been perfect, and they've "made a lot of mistakes." However, their commitment to one another and dedication to working through tough times have made their bond successful.

“I don't want people looking at me and Barack like hashtag couple goals and not know that no, no, there are some broken things that happen even in the best of marriages,” she said, adding that they still find themselves at odds sometimes, but have figured out how to navigate arguments better.

She continued: “It's the choice to figure it out, not to quit when it gets hard. So yeah, I said something that I didn't mean to say, right? Year five, we might've had hurt feelings, and it would have taken days to rectify it. Year 30, it's like, ‘Ah, there she goes again, or there he goes again.’ I know how to talk to him about it and when, because we've practiced it.”
