The Great British Bake Off's eliminated baker for Bread Week has poked fun at the way their final bake turned out.

Tuesday's episode featured the latest edition of an annual speciality for judge Paul Hollywood, a bread-making expert, with Noel Fielding joking Paul may just "smash [the bakers'] dreams with his mahogany fist" if their loaves weren't up to snuff.

Delivery driver Abbi Lawson went with a cottage loaf for the Signature, but the dough expanded sideways instead of upwards. Abbi hilariously dubbed the loaf "Flat Janice".

After they were sent home, Abbi penned a light-hearted goodbye note to the show's cast and fans where they reflected on their Bake Off experience.

"What an incredible thing to do — bake cakes in a tent," Abbi wrote. "I've had a truly wonderful time and met some absolutely amazing and talented people.

"I'm so proud of everything I achieved in my time in the tent, and I'm grateful for everything I've learned."

Abbi poked fun at Flat Janice rising "outwards instead of upwards", but stressed they've "loved every minute" on the show.

Abbi is in great company following Amos Lilley leaving in Cake Week and Keith Barron having to say goodbye in Biscuits Week.

When Amos had to depart the tent two weeks ago, he said in his note that he felt "nothing but pure love" for his fellow bakers.

"What an amazing experience I've had," Amos wrote. "I can't believe how much fun I've had and what a joy to meet all the wonderful bakers I can now call my close friends."

Keith called his Bake Off experience "rewarding" in his own goodbye note, especially because he felt it was a "huge privilege" to "mix with some exceptionally talented individuals" in the cast.

The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK.
