Asics Announce a Running Mask That You Can Drink Through

From Men's Health

With face coverings and face masks now mandatory in supermarkets, shops and on public transport in the UK, many sports brands are designing masks to keep us safe when we’re out and about. Today, Asics have launched their own face covering, which is said to be created specifically for runners.

Designed at the Asics Institute of Sport Science, the mask has air vents that allow runners to breathe as they move, while preventing the spread of droplets. It’s made from a quick-drying fabric which Asics say cools the air flowing into the mouth, plus it’s got a fully adjustable fit to accommodate a wide range of face shapes.

According to a survey completed by Asics in lockdown, 70% of regular exercises in the UK said they had concerns about how to run safely as lockdown eased and were avoiding certain routes or spaces in order to maintain social distance with others.

Kenichi Harano, Executive Officer and Senior General Manager at Asics said, ‘We know how important it is for runners to protect themselves and others when running, but also that many find masks uncomfortable and restrictive. So, we created the Asics Runners Face Cover, uniquely designed for runners with cutting-edge technology and an innovative design that gives runners room to breathe comfortably while performing at their physical peak.’ The mask is available mid-September, costing £35.
