Asda has kicked off the New Year by announcing its latest price-drop campaign that will save shoppers money on thousands of household staples. January is already a difficult month for many, coming off the back of the expensive Christmas season.

With inflation rates still set to pose an issue on some of our wages in 2025, doing the weekly shop might be a concern. Which is why Asda has started the month off with its Big January Price Drop initiative.

The campaign kicked off yesterday, January 1, and it will see over 2,500 popular groceries and household essentials reduced by an average 26 per cent. Available to shop online and in store, the supermarket giant has said its money-saving scheme will reduce products shopper buy week in, week out, with cuts being made throughout the rest of January.

Helping to ease the financial burden of the post-festive season, staples such as cheese, fish fingers, chicken fillets, beef mince, and cleaning items have been dropped in price. A variety of Asda's own items and branded items are included in the price-drop.

Commenting on the initiative, David Hills, Chief Customer Officer at Asda said: "We know that as we come out of the festive period, budgets can be a concern for many families.

"Our Big Jan Price Drop aims to ease that burden and make money stretch further for our customers, by reducing the prices of the products they’re buying week in, week out, continuing to offer uncompromising value to all.
