Anton Du Beke announces Christmas baking show with his family
Strictly Come Dancing pro Anton Du Beke is swapping his dancing shoes for an apron - as he's about to front a special baking series with his family.
The dancer, who actually trained as a baker aged 17, will be the star of Anton Du Bake, At Christmas on This Morning. It's a three part special with a glimpse into the festive traditions of the Du Beke clan, with his wife Hannah and their young twins George and Henrietta.
We'll follow the family as they learned how to make wreaths, choose their Christmas tree, and take long winter walks with their pet dogs. As well, of course, as baking mince puffs, special 'stained glass' biscuits and Anton's favourite trifle dessert.
"It'll be very festive indeed! Christmas time for us is joyous and very traditional, and with two three-and-a-half year olds it's full of fun and excitement. Best thing in the world!
"As a young baker the mince puffs were far more popular than the pies, and the stained glass biscuits make lovely decorations for a family tree too."
Anton admits that a blessing of leaving Strictly early (he was paired with former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, the first celebrity to leave the competition) is that he's able to spending more time with his children - and more time in the kitchen cooking up treats,
"Being able to bake gives me great joy and being able to do it with the children too is just marvellous," he says.
Anton Du Bake, At Christmas will air on ITV’s This Morning from 3rd December at 10am.
