If we told you that you could sip on a G&T and give your beauty care a boost at the same time, you'd be totally onboard, right?

Collagin promises to give you just that - an anti-ageing edge to your Saturday night cocktail. The brand describes its gin as 'staying true to the principles of a classic gin but with a rejuvenating twist of anti-ageing botanicals such as star anise, pink grapefruit and orris, with the innovative addition of pure collagen'.

Sounds too good to be true? Well, sadly it might just be.

Co-founder of the brand Liz Beswick told The Metro: ‘We can’t scientifically claim that we are anti-ageing as we are an alcohol brand.’ She also confirmed that the gin only contains 100mg of collagen per 500ml bottle after distillation, which is nothing compared to some of the non-alcoholic collagen drinks on the market (e.g. Skinade which boasts up to 7,000mg of collagen per 150ml).

While all this might be devastating for our ultimate life elixir dreams, 100mg of collagen is still better than nothing, right?

And if we have to drink gin, which we obvi do (in moderation), then why not make it the gin that has a possibility, however small, of making us look young again?
