Anne Hathaway's Coachella-Inspired Micro Minidress Features a Very Millennial Pattern
Peep toe platforms are back, baby.
Anne Hathaway's fashion reign continues, this time, at her latest movie premiere. The actress attended the SXSW premiere of her new film, The Idea of You, on March 16 and showed up — and out — in a mini dress and platform heels.
Hathaway's red carpet look took inspiration from the flirty nature of her latest movie. Her dress, a bright, crystal-embellished silver-white number with chevron detailing (AKA the most millennial pattern around, according to TikTok), hailed from Patou’s spring 2024 collection. Meanwhile, the actress went silver for her shoes with a pair of Aquazzura peep toe platform heels. The star accessorized her look with a silver handbag and several Bulgari jewelry pieces.
The look is a fitting one for The Idea of You — according to the official synopsis, the film follows Solène (Hathaway), "a 40-year-old single mom who begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet." After Solène's ex bails on taking their teen daughter to Coachella, she attends, "has a chance encounter with Hayes, and there is an instant, undeniable spark."
Speaking of the movie during SXSW, Hathaway referred to the movie as a coming-of-age story and noted that the genre typically applies to younger individuals.
“For some reason, we talk about coming-of-age stories as being something that happens to you in the earliest part of your life, and I don’t know about you, but I feel like I keep blooming,” she said, per Vogue. “I don’t want to be pigeonholed and don’t want to be placed in a box of what type of films I have to be making because of my age, gender, and because I won an Oscar. I want to have fun, dammit!”
