Anne Diamond diagnosed with breast cancer

TV presenter Anne Diamond has revealed her breast cancer diagnosis.

The 68-year-old TV personality revealed on GB News on Thursday night that she received her diagnosis on the same day she found out she had been awarded an OBE in King Charles III's New Year Honours list.

While she is "still going through it", the Good Morning with Anne and Nick presenter told host Dan Wootton that she felt well enough to return to work after undergoing radiation therapy and a mastectomy to remove her breast tissue.

"It's been a fight against breast cancer. That's what it's been. It's been a long journey. And five months later, I'm still not at the end of the journey, but I'm through it enough to come back to work," she said. "God, this is the first time I've talked about it, so it's quite difficult but I've had the full works."

She continued, "The first operation I had was nine hours long. I don't remember it. I was in and out like that, but nine hours of removal and rebuild, that took a lot of getting over. Then I had a (lymphadenectomy), where they take out lymph nodes, later as well, just to make sure they can trace the travel, if the cancer has travelled at all to the rest of the body. Luckily, I don't think it did."

Anne, who was last seen on TV on 1 January, will return to her GB News weekend breakfast show with Stephen Dixon on Saturday.

She was awarded an OBE for her services to public health and safety in honour of her cot death campaign in 1991.
