Angelina Jolie's Dior Trench Coat Has A Surprising Design Detail
Angelina Jolie has touched down in Italy for the Venice Film Festival, and she did so in style.
On Tuesday, the actor and Atelier Jolie founder stepped out wearing a double-breasted, below-the-knee trench coat by Dior, despite hot summer temperatures. She gave the autumn style staple a surprising twist with short sleeves, which ended just above her elbow, and cinched the waist with a matching belt.

Underneath her outerwear, Jolie wore a casual version of her usual travel look. For her flight into Italy, she sported a white tee and cropped, wide-leg navy trousers. Accessories-wise, she opted for a pair of black oversized sunglasses with a subtle cat-eye, as well as a pair of black leather knee-high boots from Mulberry with criss-crossing leather straps.
While Jolie’s ensemble seemed better suited for autumn—or at the very least, a cooler day—the actor proved the trench coat is just as stylish during the summer months. Granted, her short-sleeved version allows for better ventilation than the classic transitional style, making it great for any late summer layering.
Jolie isn’t the only one jumping on the trench coat train. The style is also a notable favourite of Jennifer Lopez, who’s proved the versatility of the look in a trench coat dress and a grey wool version of the classic jacket. Selena Gomez is another star who keeps multiple iterations of the outerwear in her closet, including a chic Parisian style in all-black. And, if you need further proof the style is trending, look no further than supermodel Bella Hadid, who’s co-signed the trench coat even in tropical temperatures.
Perfect for those chilly summer nights and in-between days, the trench coat will bring a dash of polished flair to any outfit. Whether you’re running errands or meeting up with friends for dinner, the style is all you need to elevate your look—so stock up on the trend before it sells out.
