Andrea McLean returns to 'Loose Women' and won't rule out rejoining

Andrea McLean has returned to Loose Women for a one-off episode but hasn't ruled out rejoining the show full-time.

The former host of the panel show returned for the first time as a guest to discuss her new book which details her 13 years as host of Loose Women.

Talking to the various hosts including Ruth Langsford, McLean said it was "very nice" to be back but was also like an "out of body" experience.

Despite previously saying that she had no regrets over leaving Loose Women, when asked by Langsford if she would rule out rejoining Loose Women, McLean replied by saying "never".

She also discussed what it was like leaving the show which she fronted for a long time: "At the time so many people were saying to me, 'oh gosh, what a brave thing to do', I mean also what a stupid thing to do, it's the middle of a pandemic and you're quitting your job to follow your dreams."

McLean added: "I didn't know if I was gonna face plant or fly. I'm so glad I did, I love what I do."

The presenter also reflected on her nervous breakdown from three years ago: "That is what I love about this show, I was able to talk about it, and people reached out to me and I helped other people through that."

She also affirmed that she was in a much better place now: "I think I built a little tool kit up in that time, which felt really dark and horrible but what it made me do is realise that one, I never wanna go back to that place again, but also I need to stop looking for someone else will fix me, I'll feel better then. Actually you need to learn to fix yourself."

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
