Amy Dowden ‘had a cry’ with Wynne Evans following Strictly Come Dancing withdrawal
Welsh Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Amy Dowden has revealed she "had a little cry" with fellow Welsh star Wynne Evans, over her Strictly Come Dancing journey being cut short. Amy returned to the dance floor for the 2024 series, after she missed out in 2023 due to being diagnosed with breast cancer, but has now unfortunately had to step back from the BBC One show.
Amy, who was partnered with JLS band member JB Gill, has injured her foot, meaning she can't keep dancing. JB is now partnered with Lauren Oakley. Speaking on BBC Radio Wales, Amy said Wynne, who is partnered with Katya Jones on Strictly Come Dancing, supported her.
She said: "Me and Wynne, I think there is that special Welsh connection... I saw him actually at It Takes Two (Strictly's weekly sister show) on Wednesday, and he just came up to me, and I gave him a massive hug, he just said 'it's rubbish' and he knew not to say anymore but he gave me that big Welsh cwtch and I had a little cry with him."

He said: "Happy Monday! Did you have a nice weekend? Nothing much really happened to me. Oh yeah, on Sunday night on Strictly, I was actually on the dance off. And when that light was red - I tell you, oh my word! 'And the first one to face the dance off - Wynne and Katya!' Great, thank you! Thank you very much for that. That's great, that's just what I wanted to do."
