Amelia Dimz's black latex gown is her best look ever – we said what we said

A little black dress has been a style statement since, well... forever. Be it for a date night outfit, a winter wedding guest look or the perfect cocktail attire for whatever event you've got in your diary, an LBD in any form somehow possesses the power to instantly make you feel chic and confident. It has rightly earned its position as a wardrobe essential.

But we've noticed an update on the classic look. Specifically in the fabrication. Yep, to be bang on trend, you better make sure your black dress is latex. As in, the rubbery material with a high-shine, glossy finish used to craft skintight silhouettes and imbue a sexy feel.

It was Maya Jama (natch) who first sparked the trend. For Monday [10 February] night's episode of Love Island All Stars, the TV host appeared on screens in a black latex dress featuring multiple intricate cut-outs. Now, two days later, Amelia Dimoldenerg has followed suit in her own black latex number.

The Chicken Shop Date CEO took to Instagram to give her followers a sneak peek at her ensemble for her annual Valentine's Day party, ‘Amelia’s Valentine’s Affair’. For the occasion, she opted for a black gown with a halter neckline, structured cups and a central thigh-high leg slit. The couture latex design from London-based latex specialists Atsuko Kudo hugged Amelia's curves before flaring out into a subtle mermaid silhouette.

A black feather boa added even more sexiness with black patent court shoes and oversized gold stud earrings completing the look. Amelia's fans were loving the entire outfit, taking to the comments section to write:

We couldn't agree more.
