Amanda Holden's net worth compared to Sharon Osbourne's after she bragged X Factor salary 'went on a few handbags'

Amanda Holden and Sharon Osbourne have stirred up drama this week, sparking debates over which star is wealthier. The feud heated up when the 53 year old Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda defended her friend Simon Cowell, 64, after Sharon, 71, and Louis Walsh made snide remarks about him on last month's Celebrity Big Brother.

Amanda highlighted that Sharon and Louis, 71, should recognise the importance of Simon in their success, attributing their affluence to his decision to cast them as judges on The X Factor, which had audiences of 20 million every week during its peak.

However, it seems Amanda may have neglected to consider that both Sharon and Louis have been successful in their own individual rights, working as music managers separately. In addition, Sharon reached reality TV stardom in 2002 with her family, including rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, 75, in the MTV series The Osbournes.

Amanda remarked this week: "I hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon - he's the person who's given them all the chances, given them a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn't have had."

Sharon clapped back on social media, stating: "Our worlds are totally different. I have been blessed with an amazing lifestyle throughout my entire life. Before you were born, I was living in a mansion in Beverly Hills, and continue to do so today and continue to have my country estate in England as well.

The star then continued: But there is something you should know. I never discuss money, lifestyle, or positions of power. I find it to be classless and crude. However, you've now forced my hand to divulge these things to you and I honestly don't want to seem like I'm bragging, but the truth is my money and success were not due to doing a couple of Simon Cowell shows."

"Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed doing them at the time as they were great fun. Yes, Simon paid me very well. Probably more than what you're receiving today, but all of that my darling went on a few handbags.", reports the Mirror.

Curiosity is buzzing among fans about the net worth of both celebs, with speculation suggesting a vast difference in fortunes between Amanda and Sharon. Meanwhile, viewers can anticipate Amanda's return to television as Britain's Got Talent gears up for its seventieth season on ITV this month.

Amanda, who has been wedded to music producer Chris Hughes since 2008 and is a mum to two daughters, has been a staple on the BGT judging panel since its inception in 2007. Not only does she host a radio show on Heart FM, but she also presents a variety of other shows and boasts an impressive acting career, with roles in iconic series like the hairdressing drama Cutting It and feel-good drama Wild At Heart.

With her successful acting and presenting career, Amanda's net worth is reportedly around £3.6 million, while The Sun suggests her hubby, Chris, is worth £4.5 million.

However, Amanda's wealth pales in comparison to the colossal fortune amassed by Sharon and her family - the Osbournes are reported to be worth a whopping £341 million. Ozzy, her husband, has had a highly successful music career both as a solo artist and as the lead singer of the legendary rock band Black Sabbath.

He also made a tidy sum from the notorious annual event, Ozzyfest, which was orchestrated by Sharon.

Sharon is not just a celebrity wife, she's a powerhouse in her own right having run her own management company, representing big names like The Smashing Pumpkins and Motorhead. Her TV career has also been hugely successful, both with her family in The Osbournes, and in multiple solo endeavours.

But that's not all. Sharon has also been a judge on The X Factor and America's Got Talent, reportedly earning £56,000 per episode for the latter.

She was also a main host of The Talk from 2010 until 2021, had her own chat show from 2003 until 2006, and has appeared on numerous other shows. In 2023, she reportedly earned £100K per episode for her stint on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK.

On top of all this, Sharon and Ozzy have a massive property portfolio, with homes in Los Angeles, Buckinghamshire and Hollywood. These properties are said to be worth between £3.8 million and £14.5 million.

The Osbournes' family fortune is estimated at £341 million, with Sharon herself contributing a whopping £170 million.
