Amanda Holden hits back at ‘shocking’ BGT dress complaints: 'My husband doesn't have a problem!'
Amanda Holden is unfazed by the complaints about her controversial fashion choices on Britain’s Got Talent, joking her husband has no qualms with her revealing outfits.
Viewers have branded her dresses “shocking” and too revealing for a “family show” with broadcasting watchdog Ofcom “assessing” complaints.
She wore a transparent Nicolas Jebran gown, which featured an intricate spider-web design on Wednesday night before leaving viewers irate with her plunging Saiid Kobeisy dress on Thursday.
“Shocking dress to wear so early in the evening Amanda! Not appropriate for a family show,” wrote one viewer.
Another tweeted: “When will you dress appropriately for a family show? Don’t want to see your breasts out on every show. Not classy like Alesha (sic).”
A third posted: “You’re doing absolutely everything to get in the news, work quiet after this? Put the boobs away for early evening telly, no need.”
Holden fired back with a sassy response, telling The Sun: “My t*** seem to become the show’s biggest talking point every year.
“We’ve had plenty of complaints apparently, but none from home, let me tell you.”
She defended her outfits, insisting they are more demure than ever as she has opted to wear nipple covers – something she may auction off on eBay.
“When I wore the spider’s web dress this week I actually wore a nipple cover, and for me that was a first,” she said.
“I was thinking that it’s a family show and people talk about my boobs every year, so I thought I would wear a nipple cover. I’d now happily put it on eBay.”
Ofcom received 34 complaints about her dress on Thursday night.
Holden has also sparked complaints over her use of language after she shouted “f***” after being pulled up to take part in The Haunting’s terrifying magic act.
She apologised and later joked she had washed her mouth out with soap.
Britain’s Got Talent is on ITV, tonight at 7:30pm
