Amanda Holden and Alan Carr make disgusting discovery in new TV renovation
Amanda Holden and Alan Carr are off on their travels again, this time to Spain - or as Amanda calls it, the land of "sherry and oranges".
After two successful renovations in Italy, the duo are heading to Andalusia to transform their first Spanish property. However, their new home comes with a rather unpleasant surprise in the bathroom.
"I’m up for a new challenge, a new language, new food, new culture," Alan Carr shares. "I love Spain because it’s got a bit of everything – the culture, the bars, the beaches. Spain is like tapas, a bit of this, a bit of that, and you can fill up on anything you want! "

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has found a three-storey townhouse in the quaint village of Moclín, just a 90-minute drive from Malaga airport. "I’ve found the most amazing house," Amanda excitedly reveals in the first episode of the new season, set to air Friday, January 24 on BBC One.
"It’s big, I think a third project needs to be a real ‘WOW’. Really ambitious. This is going to be biblical." But when she arrives with Alan, they find some major issues. "It’s the same as when you first meet someone, you don’t see any flaws in them," Amanda explains.
"It’s the same with a house. You go round going, ‘Oh my God, this is amazing, I love this, I love this...’ Then gradually it becomes like a nightmare."
The pair plan to convert their project into a boutique B&B, but are horrified to discover the roof has collapsed. "Amanda has chosen the house this year," Alan points out.
"She’s got a great eye, but she loves a challenge, it’s in her DNA. Every time you open the door there is another mess. A courtyard, an overgrown tree, some stairs that probably go up to heaven..."
When they discover the ruined roof, they think they’ve seen the worst of it. But Alan finds an unwelcome mess in the bath and jokes, "It’s weird because a lot of the decor is dated, but the turd is fresh! "
It’s all the encouragement they need to find the nearest bar and enjoy a cheeky sangria, with Alan ordering a "grande" before telling Amanda, "This is what we’re here for! " Salud!
This comes after the dynamic duo joined forces to renovate a crumbling "one Euro" house in northern Tuscany and another property in the medieval hilltop town of Salemi in Sicily.
Speaking about the success of the program, Amanda previously claimed: "It’s wonderful how often I’m stopped in the street and told how much people love our show. Alan and I have the best time filming it and to have reached series three already is beyond the dreams of our lockdown pitch to the BBC!
"By day we love getting our hands dirty knocking down walls and lugging around power tools knowing we’ll be sipping on an ice-cold reward by night, forgetting the cameras are rolling! Bring on the Spanish sun, we can’t wait to get started and continue to help Comic Relief and Children In Need along the way."
Alan was equally thrilled, saying: "It’s always exciting when a show you love gets recommissioned but the fact that we will be bringing our unique DIY expertise to a whole different country makes it even more special."
He added: "We are saying ciao for now and Hola España! Can’t wait to grab our power tools and get our hard hats on and bring some much needed TLC to a casa in Spain!"
