Alicia Vikander just debuted autumn's biggest hair trend
Alicia Vikander has become the latest star to co-sign the bob trend, debuting a 'chunky midi bob' for the press tour of her latest film, Firebrand. The actress sidelined her naturally grown-out lengths in favour of a textured, shoulder-grazing cut courtesy of the celebrity hairstylist George Northwood, who also works with the likes of Daisy Edgar-Jones and Alexa Chung.
The 35-year-old's fresh crop is the perfect example of a soft, lived-in bob. The tousled look, which is slightly longer than the traditional chin-length trim, is brimming with volume and movement, exuding an effortlessness that is often lacking in a more classic, straight cut. Northwood styled Vikander's new look with a gentle wave and deep side-part, making a convincing case for the once exiled 2000s hair trend.
The star's most recent public appearances have seen her celebrating the release of Firebrand, in which she portrays Katherine Parr, the sixth wife of Henry VIII. The film, which lands in the UK on 6 September, also features Jude Law as Henry VIII and The Crown's Erin Doherty.
Vikander is far from the first celebrity to adopt a statement bob for the tail end of summer. Emily in Paris star Lily Collins recently replaced her long, glossy tresses with a sleek, chin-length boyfriend bob, while Cate Blanchett opted for a similarly tousled crop for the Venice Film Festival this week.
