Alexa Chung just made us really want a faux fur coat for Christmas
We always love sifting through the red-carpet looks from the annual Fashion Awards, and this year's event in London was no different. The A-list likes of Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan and One Day's Ambika Mod served up some of our favourites for 2024, but it was Alexa Chung who stole the style top spot for us.
The model, presenter and all-round 'It' girl stunned in a glamorous 1920s-inspired ensemble by Miu Miu, comprising a beaded black slip dress under a chocolate-brown faux-fur coat.
For a cool, contemporary touch, Alexa accessorised with a small red handbag that matched her bold red lip, while on-trend buckle slingbacks and Boucheron jewellery finished off her fabulous outfit.
We were already coveting a faux-fur coat, but having seen how chic Alexa looked last night (Monday 2 December), a similarly timeless style has now gone straight to the top of our Christmas wish lists – for wearing all winter long and for years to come.

Hope Wide-Collar Faux-Fur Jacket
One of the biggest coat trends of the season, our fashion director Oonagh Brennan showed us how to wear faux-fur in a recent styling piece. Though a long faux-fur coat like Alexa's is the perfect choice for party outerwear or polishing up your silhouette, the many shorter jackets in the shops right now are ideal for bringing a "downtown New York vibes to denim and cords," says Oonagh.

Try a leopard-print faux-fur coat with dark wash barrel-leg jeans, clash your textures by pairing a shearling style with leather trousers, or make like a fashion editor and keep your look elegant and tonal in a palette of coffee and cream.
