Alex Jones has been enjoying some quality time with her family during the half-term break, which involved taking her brood on day trip to one of the places she loved most as a child.

The One Show presenter shared a clip of their day out to St Fagan's National Museum of History in Alex's native Wales on Instagram, which included a visit to a sweet shop that was probably a highlight for the kids.

"It might have been a cloudy old day but today I took the children to somewhere I loved going as a child and we had a great time," Alex wrote. "If you haven’t been…go!!! So much to see. Such a unique experience! @museumwales."

The post also stirred up a lot of happy memories for Alex's followers, with one commenting: "It is a right of passage for all Welsh Children and as adults is very nostalgic. Will be great when the Vulcan Pub eventually opens."

Another added: "I love this place too. Magical for children and adults."

Alex and husband Charlie are parents to sons Teddy and Kit, and daughter Annie. Alex was born in Ammanford, while St Fagan's Museum is situated a little further away in the Welsh capital of Cardiff.

The TV star has been very busy of late – as well as juggling family life and presenting duties on The One Show, Alex has been fronting her fertility documentary on the W Channel, and recently stood in chef Matt Tebbutt on BBC One's Saturday Kitchen Live.

Sharing a video of her appearance on the much-loved breakfast programme, Alex wrote on Instagram: "Had that BEST time on Saturday kitchen. What a team in-front and behind camera. Great food and wine, what a dream!! Normal brilliant service will be resumed with @matt.tebbutt next week but my goodness, it was fun! Thank you for all your messages."

Alex received a warm response from viewers, many of whom praised the host for bringing "fun and laughter" to the show.

The One Show airs on weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
