For years, I used my beloved KitchenAid standing mixer all the time. And then it started to sputter along, sounding like it was dying.

A tragic death would have been the end of this story, but then ALDI stepped in with its Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer.

Run, don’t walk, to ALDI if you're looking for a new stand mixer on a budget.

What I Love About ALDI's Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer

The first thing to love about the Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer is its price: $49. You won’t find a stand mixer anywhere at this great price. It costs less than ten times—ten times!—what a KitchenAid does.

The second thing to love about this ALDI mixer is that it does a great job of mixing, making dough, whisking, and beating.

It comes with a 5.3-quart bowl, a whisk, a flat beater with a silicone lip, and a dough hook. I didn’t look too closely at the photos of it on the box so when I opened it, I found a really fantastic surprise: a splash guard.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve splattered batter, egg whites, and other baking substances on myself, the counter tops, and the kitchen floor. This one little detail, the splash guard (what it's technically called, but I call it ingenious), makes the Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer better for me than a lot of other mixers on the market.

Its mixing speeds go from one to eight, but there’s also a turbo function if you set it on one then press the button down for a couple of seconds. That’s perfect for whipping cream or anything you want whipped fast. I also love that the speeds are on an electronic keypad, which is pretty sleek, just like the mixer's overall design.

How I'm Using ALDI's Stand Mixer

I have used this mixer for whipping cream, making pumpkin pie filling, and beating cake batter, and it does the job so well.

I got the silvery grey-colored mixer, but it also came in blue at the ALDI store I went to. Online, I’ve seen a white version too.

I like this mixer so much that I got it for a cherished family member (shh, don’t tell my mom!) who doesn’t have a good stand mixer. This mixer isn’t as heavy as some others out there, and it’s got sticky grips that prevent it from "walking" around on the counter, which will be perfect for my mom's needs.
