Aldi unveils 'first of its kind' champagne cheese as an 'indulgent' Valentine's Day treat
Aldi has just cooked up a quirky new treat ahead of Valentine's Day and you won't be able to get it anywhere else.
With February 14 looming, many of us will be looking to be wined and dined. Whether it be a romantic evening with someone special, or a lavish spread for Galentines, food is sure to be on the menu.
To kick off your evening, the supermarket has just combined cheese and champagne to make an "indulgent" starter. It's the Specially Selected Veuve Monsigny Champagne & Barber’s Vintage Cheddar Bake and it looks perfect for sharing with loved ones.

Available in Aldi stores from Monday, February 10, this eccentric starter is said to be the "first of its kind for any UK supermarket". Made from high quality ingredients, it has already earned a "taste approved" certification from the Good Housekeeping Institute.
Boasting the flavours of two popular Aldi products, this premium cheese bake is said to boast a "rich" and "creamy" texture. It combines the supermarket's award-winning Veuve Monsigny Champagne with its popular Barber’s Vintage Cheddar.
For those who don't know, Aldi's Veuve Champagne received the 'Bronze' award at the prestigious 2024 International Wine and Spirit Convention. Boasting buttery brioche notes and tangy fruit flavours, this bubbly is also ideal on its own for toasting with.
Mixed with the Barbers Cheddar, the result is a "sophisticated blend of champagne flavours with indulgent, rich, creamy cheddar". According to Aldi, those looking for "ultimate indulgence" should bake in the oven and then enjoy with warm, crusty bread.
The launch of the first of its kind cheese bake comes just as Aldi is about to launch its Valentine's Dine-In Meal later this month. Also set to go available on Monday, February 10, the retailer's range is said to cost from just £2.99 per person for its cheapest meal.
Ideal for those looking to avoid the rush of getting a reservation, the deal offers a three course meal that is both budget friendly and high quality. When the range drops in stores, shoppers will find a range of dishes to suit all palettes from meat eaters to vegans.
Meanwhile, the champagne cheese bake won't be the only new addition this year. A few other arrivals for 2025 include Double Bubble Tempura Prawns with Sriracha Dip, a Specially Selected Duck Breast with Plum & Hoisin Sauce and Pink Mini Heart Pancakes.
