Air fryer Sunday roast is less than 500 calories and easy to make
A traditional Sunday roast is a weekly treat and the perfect way to end a weekend. It's a meal that many look forward to every week.
But a traditional one can contain as many as 1600 calories which is a big dent in your daily intake. That's especially true if you're watching what you eat after the excesses of Christmas and New Year.
So what if you could make a roast dinner with far fewer calories but with the same great taste?

According to TikTok creator @Ellena_Fit, you can. She says that roast dinners don't have to be calorific. The fitness guru shared a recipe for the Sunday special using her air fryer and it contains less than 500 calories.
The delicious looking meal will also provide you with 41g of protein and 43.5g of carbohydrates.
Ingredients for 4
Chicken: 1 medium roast chicken, 1 tbsp paprika, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tsp roasting salt & pepper
Potatoes: 520g potatoes, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp roasting salt
Sausages: 8 chicken sausages, 8 rashers streaky bacon
Stuffing: 1 pack of stuffing & water to cover
Carrots: 4 carrots, 1 tbsp honey, salt and pepper
150g broccoli
200ml bisto gravy
Method
1. Season the chicken with paprika, oil, roasting salt and pepper. Air fry for 45 minutes at 180 degrees C
2. Peel the potatoes then boil for 10 minutes, drain and fluff them up. Transfer to the air fryer and coat in roasting salt, oil and pepper. Air fry at 180 degrees C for 30 minutes
3. Wrap the sausages in bacon (I used 2 per portion) then air fry in the same slot as the potatoes for 20 minutes
4. Add hot water to the stuffing, leave to steam then roll into equal sized balls (50g pp)
5. Chop & boil the carrots for 10 minutes, drain, then coat in honey. Add the stuffing balls to the same air fryer and cook for 20 minutes at 180 degrees C
6. Boil the broccoli for 5 minutes until soft
7. Finally, mix the gravy with hot water, then plate up your lower calorie roast dinner
