The age Brits reach their peak confirmed - and it may surprise you
A recent study has revealed the age Brits believe they have reached their peak - and it may not be when you think. Research found that most people hit a glow-up during middle-age and discover a new lease of life.
It was revealed that 45 emerged as the golden number for people feeling at their healthiest and happiest. And when you look at celebrities at that milestone - including James McAvoy, Chris Pratt, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor - it's hard to argue.
The survey, commissioned by Weetabix, saw 2,000 Brits in their 40s and 50s open up on the changes of midlife - with more than half (57%) insisting that the idea of middle-age being a negative thing was outdated.

More than three quarters (77%) of respondents said they were more content with their life after turning 40, thanks to several factors. Almost two-thirds (65%) said they were no longer bothered by what others think of them, while 59 per cent said they had finally realised what really matters in life.
Other key factors in midlife happiness include being happy in your relationships (46%) or no longer feeling the need to compete with others (37%)
Looking after your body and mind after hitting middle-age was a priority for 54 per cent of people surveyed, with a quarter of them saying they started their day in a healthy way was how they felt their best.
Getting fitter as they hit midlife was an important factor for 62 per cent, while a quarter of people said they were actually in better shape now than they had been in their 20s and 30s.
The top signs of a glow-up later in life include joining a gym (24%), learning a new language (14%), taking up yoga or meditating (13%), and going cycling (11%).
A third of those in their 40s and 50s are making more of an effort to watch what they eat, having a diet rich with nutrients and vitamins.
Lorraine Rothwell, Head of Brand at Weetabix, said: “There is so much to be said for making time for yourself. Whatever age you feel inspired to have a ‘glow-up’, we want to make healthy lifestyle choices more accessible for everyone.
“That’s why we’ve partnered with The Body Coach, to offer a free three-month subscription worth £45 with every box of Weetabix purchased between January 27 and April 14.”
