Adam Driver Rocks His ‘Marriage Story’ Rolex to the ‘Ferrari’ Premiere at the New York Film Fest

The 61st New York Film Festival wraps up this weekend, but not before Michael Mann’s much-anticipated Ferrari premieres on Friday. Ahead of the viewing, co-stars Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz attended a press conference for the flick where the leading man’s watch also garnered our attention.

Driver, who plays Enzo Ferrari in the film, sported a Rolex Oyster Perpetual, ref. 114300, on stage at the Walter Reade Theater in New York City. He paired the 39 mm stainless steel piece with a business-casual ensemble that included a fall-ready wool blazer, navy oxford shirt, and brown chinos. Suede Chukka boots completed the sophisticated look.

Fans of the actor may recall Driver wore the timepiece in 2019’s Marriage Story, a drama in which he stars opposite Scarlett Johansson. Without question, the simple time-only watch’s most striking design element is its blue dial. It comes topped with steel baton hour makers and hands, and is powered by the Swiss watchmaker’s calibre 3132. The automatic movement runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph and provides a 48-hour power reserve.

Though it was discontinued in 2020, a pre-owned example of Driver’s OP is now available via Swiss Watch Expo for $7,790. Rolex also currently stocks a similar version of the watch but in a larger 41 mm case size, the Oyster Perpetual 41. It doesn’t feature neon-green squares above each hour marker like its smaller sibling, but it does include the same blue dial and a stainless-steel Oyster bracelet. You can add the newer model, ref. 124300, to your collection for $6,400.

“It’s a great honor to close the esteemed New York Film Festival with Ferrari,” Mann told Variety in an interview. And with a superstar cast that also includes Shailene Woodley, Gabriel Leone, Jack O’Connell, and Patrick Dempsey—who attended the red-carpet premiere of the film at Venice Film Festival this year—it’s not hard to imagine why.
