Adam Brody Just Opened Up About His Chemistry With Kristen Bell In ‘Nobody Wants This’
One of the many, many things that has kept audiences gripped to Netflix's newest rom-com, Nobody Wants This, is its two protagonists palpable chemistry, which Adam Brody – who plays Rabbi Noah – in the laugh-out-loud, will-they-won't-they series, has finally addressed.
Brody stars opposite Kristen Bell, who plays Joanne, in the ten-episode series, and in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter has revealed what he believes is the pair's key to sizzling on-screen chemistry.

'If two people are too similar, sometimes you need a little bit of different chords, different notes to harmonise. I didn’t totally know how it would work,' Brody told the outlet in response to a question of whether there was pressure to find a 'rhythm' with Bell. 'I know that she’s a lovely person and she’s really talented, and I knew that the writing was really strong. All you can do is go in and do your best. You hope that it turns out, and again, I give a lot of credit to the writing.'
He then added: 'We’ve been together in different shows and nobody said, “Your chemistry is amazing.” I mean, we had a great time working together and it certainly worked, but there’s a reason this time that the show is getting more of a response in this way. That has to do with the shape of the writing.'
For the uninitiated, Nobody Wants This centres on the unlikely relationship between sex podcaster Joanne (Bell) and Rabbi Noah (Brody), who meet at a mutual friend's dinner party. Foster has called the series a 'love letter' to her marriage, with the story of Joanne and Noah loosely based on her experience of falling for her now-husband, who is the son of Jewish Russian émigrés.
