The first rule of Fight Club may be that you don’t talk about Fight Club, but since making its debut on the big screen 25 years ago it’s been a hot topic among film fans across the world. Having made a splash following its release in 1999, the movie has achieved cult classic status, and helped skyrocket the careers of stars including Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter.

And among those who quickly became a household name as a result of starring in the film is Jared Leto - though he looks completely unrecognisable more than two decades on. Known for playing Angel Face in the film, Jared’s character was known for his bleach blond hair and was a high ranking member in Project Mayhem.

Twenty five years on, Jared, 52, has ditched the blond look and is more familiar among fans for his long brunette hair and beard. However, having since established a successful career in Hollywood, the star has undergone even more dramatic transformations, such as turning into the Joker in Suicide Squad as well as Paolo Gucci in House Of Gucci.

Throughout his career on our screens, the actor has secured a number of awards, including a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture in 2014 for his role in Dallas Buyers Club. “To my fellow nominees, I'm so proud to share this journey with you. I'm in awe and have so much respect for you all. To the Academy, thank you,” he said as he collected his award.

But away from the world of cinema, Jared has amassed fans across the globe as the frontman of rock band Thirty Seconds To Mars. The group was founded back in 1998, and has released songs including Kings and Queens, The Kill and Closer To The Edge.

“Music is a really special thing because I share it with my brother, and it’s a really personal thing. People always ask me like, “What do you like better? What’s the difference between music and movies?” They’re both pretty amazing things and I’m lucky to be able to do them,” he recently told Metro when discussing his career in both fields.

“As a musician, you’re an owner, as an actor, you’re an employee. There’s a responsibility that comes along with it, there’s a participation. There’s a contribution to the outcome that you’re more directly responsible for, or that you’re making an impact on. For me, it’s, it’s a family thing, it’s a really special thing, so it’d be easy to choose.”
