Meet the 70-year-old aristocrat interviewing to find a young wife (and baby-making machine)
If you’re looking for a man of the older generation, you’re in luck.
70-year-old Sir Benjamin Slade is said to be “interviewing hard” to find a new young wife. The aristocrat recently split from 50-year-old Bridget Convey, leading Sir Ben to start the look for a younger version.
His name may be familiar after advertising for a distant heir to inherit his fortune and two castle estates. Now, it seems Sir Ben is going down the more traditional route by fathering an heir himself.
“I have had a few proposals but sometimes, the women are past their sell-by date and have been over the guns a few times,” he told the Daily Mail.
Not only do you have to be young and willing to produce an heir, you also have to fulfil Sir Ben’s long list of requirements which include being fit, having a knack for shooting and a love of throwing parties.
Sir Ben doesn’t believe that his age will stop him from having a child: “I am on the Genghis Khan diet which is recommended for young lotharios and involves eating sweet potato, sunflower seeds and horny goat weed.”
“It was recommended by my French nephew who is 70 and hasn’t a single grey hair. And Genghis had 2000 children,” the aristocrat added.
He may have described one former lover “as showing signs of madness” and said he was glad to be rid of another but it seems like old Sir Benjamin is a real catch.
