At 67, Denise Austin Shares ‘Over-50’ Full-Body Move to ‘Burn Calories’
Denise Austin shared an exercise to “burn calories,” in an Instagram video.

Whether she’s sharing easy workout moves or revealing her top wellness tips, fitness pro Denise Austin continues to share advice with her followers and fans. Now, Austin is demonstrating an efficient way to “burn calories” with a full-body move in a new “#FitOver50” Instagram video.
“Want to burn calories fast?! Give this move a try with me today! Work your body head-to-toe with this one compact move!! Grab a pair of weights and do it for one minute!! Xoxo,” Austin captioned her video, along with signature hashtags like #WorkoutMotivation and #FitOver50.
In the video, Austin demonstrates the move while standing on her pink yoga mat, wearing a pair of pink sneakers, and holding a pair of matching pink hand weights. The exercise helps “burn calories really fast,” she explains, referring to the many muscle groups targeted throughout the movement. “Grab a pair of weights and do this move! It is a lift of the shoulders and the arms and a squat” which she says is great for “working the whole body, head to toe.”
To perform the exercise, begin with your feet shoulder-width apart, hold a dumbbell in each hand, and arms down by your thighs. Next, alternate lifting arms (with the back of your hand facing the ceiling) straight out until shoulder height. After performing this once on each side, bend your arms and bring weights to shoulder level, near ears, before performing two squats. Be sure to “sit back” and really engage the glute muscles, Austin explains. “Get sexy-looking arms and a better lower half!” After your squat, simply repeat the series of movements.
